Playdate at Kathy's house

Kathy's PlaydateKathy's Playdate

This was a little playdate for our kids of the Rockin Mommas group, a group I've been with for over two years now. Our friend Kathy hosted and it was a great morning.

We went before Danny had to go to school so that he could get a chance to play with friends as well. But what a mistake! Danny started throwing a fit when we had to leave and telling me that he didn't love me and what not. I guess the next morning playdate, I'll have to not go or I'll have to leave Danny with his father to catch the bus.

Nonetheless, it was a great time while we were there and Kathy and my friend Michelle made such awesome quiches! Loved every bite of them! Thanks Kathy for such a nice morning playdate.

Visit to the Pumpkin Patch at Sweetberry Farms

Pumpkin Patch 2008

This was the first time we ever got out to Sweetberry Farms for some pumpkin fun. We went with our neighborhood group, The Funatics, and had such a "sweet" time! It was nice and cool all day long thanks to some lingering clouds. It only drizzled on us a little bit but it didn't damp our spirits any.

The kids started out painting pumpkins with friends. It was so fun seeing all the kids and their different decorations on the pumpkins. Next, we went and fed the goats. They were hanging in the trees, hanging near the fence and just loved the food the kids were giving them.

From there, we took the kids to ride the horses. Both kids enjoyed it but it THRILLED Austin. He is absolutely in to horses so much. Ever since he got the bouncy horse for his birthday, he just loves them.

From there, they went with the group on a hay ride. Mommy and Daddy didn't go with them but the moms that went said they had a great time.

After that, we ate a packed picnic on the tables with the goats as our companions. It was a lot of fun. The kids were feeding the goats EVERYTHING, from meatloaf to tree limbs and the goats ate it up.

Finally, before we left, we went in the Kidz Maze and had a great time "trying" to get lost. The kids thought it was so fun to get on different rows and call out to each other. It was really fun.

We are so glad that we got the opportunity to go as a family. We went on Monday, October 13th. I know, I know, I'm about a month late in my postings but I am trying to get several out quickly so that, hopefully, I'll be all caught up in about a week. Anyway, it was wonderful family time that we so needed. We haven't taken a vacation this year due to all that has happened, so we definitely need these little family outings.

Birthday 6 of 6 for October

This was the birthday boy, Jake. He turned 4 and had a WALL-E party at Chuck E. Cheese. The kids were thrilled to go and had such a great time. They played for a while, then went and had pizza while seeing Chuck E. Cheese sing "Happy Birthday" to Jake. Then, they got to play some more.

Thanks so much Valerie, Mike, Jake and Kayleigh for such a great time. And thanks for the WALL-E toys off the cake... the kids were so happy!

Birthday 5 of 6 for October

This was the little birthday girl Cassidy. She turned 3 years old and had a party at a park. The theme was fairies and the kids had such a great time.

The party started with a little play time on the playground. It was so beautiful because it was on top of a hill overlooking houses and landscapes that were gorgeous! Next, it was time for pizza and drinks. Then, they had a Fairy, Frog and Ladybug hunt in the wooded area ~ which was a blast by the way ~ and then it was off to have Tinkerbell cake! One wonderful afternoon! Thanks so much Amy, Mike and Cassidy for inviting us to such an enchanting party. We loved going so much!

Blast from the Past

Here are a few pictures that Kamal, Danny and I took together when Danny was 11 mos. old. He was just starting to walk and The Picture People caught him in such adorable poses that it was so hard to choose which pictures we wanted to keep. Funny, but I still regret the ones we didn't take.

Danny wasn't cooperating in the family photo so Kamal handed him the cell phone. That worked like a charm. He shut up and looked at the camera. Sometimes I miss those days and other times, I just can't believe how much he's grown.

How does it happen?

I can't stand my email inbox getting full. I like to know what is coming in and what has already been looked at. I have folders for every type of occassion so that I can file my emails in the appropriate order. But somehow, over the course of two weeks, my inbox is a madhouse! There are emails I didn't get a chance to file, emails I didn't want to delete yet, emails with deals that I planned to check out, etc. All read, but not filed.

Where am I going with this? If you emailed me and I didn't get to you in a timely manner, I want to apologize... I blame it on the email chaos!

Birthday 4 of 6 for October

This was the birthday girl, Lauren, who turned 3. She had a great party at the park. It looked like it was going to rain but never did. It made the weather nice and cool though. At the birthday party, there was a jumper and all kinds of friends to play with. Lauren was so shy that when it came to blowing out her candles, she cried because she didn't like being the center of attention. Such a cutie!!! The kids had a blast. Thank you Amanda, Scott and Lauren for inviting us to such a great party!
