Visit to the Pumpkin Patch at Sweetberry Farms

Pumpkin Patch 2008

This was the first time we ever got out to Sweetberry Farms for some pumpkin fun. We went with our neighborhood group, The Funatics, and had such a "sweet" time! It was nice and cool all day long thanks to some lingering clouds. It only drizzled on us a little bit but it didn't damp our spirits any.

The kids started out painting pumpkins with friends. It was so fun seeing all the kids and their different decorations on the pumpkins. Next, we went and fed the goats. They were hanging in the trees, hanging near the fence and just loved the food the kids were giving them.

From there, we took the kids to ride the horses. Both kids enjoyed it but it THRILLED Austin. He is absolutely in to horses so much. Ever since he got the bouncy horse for his birthday, he just loves them.

From there, they went with the group on a hay ride. Mommy and Daddy didn't go with them but the moms that went said they had a great time.

After that, we ate a packed picnic on the tables with the goats as our companions. It was a lot of fun. The kids were feeding the goats EVERYTHING, from meatloaf to tree limbs and the goats ate it up.

Finally, before we left, we went in the Kidz Maze and had a great time "trying" to get lost. The kids thought it was so fun to get on different rows and call out to each other. It was really fun.

We are so glad that we got the opportunity to go as a family. We went on Monday, October 13th. I know, I know, I'm about a month late in my postings but I am trying to get several out quickly so that, hopefully, I'll be all caught up in about a week. Anyway, it was wonderful family time that we so needed. We haven't taken a vacation this year due to all that has happened, so we definitely need these little family outings.
