My husband and I have a tradition that I love. We don't buy anything on THE DAY BEFORE OR THE DAY OF A BIG HOLIDAY, such as Valentine's chocolates, Easter candy, etc. but rather, we wait until the day AFTER and get 50% OFF!
Yesterday was Mother's day. The kids and I went to church where they had made me special Mother's Day cards with a cup of tea and when we returned home, my husband cooked us lunch. Then, I took a long, much needed, nap. After I woke up, the weather was so beautiful that I read my book outside and just relaxed. Once Austin woke from his nap, we went for a drive as a family and ended up at McDonald's where we let the kids eat and play for a while. After they were done, we rented Alvin and the Chipmunks and came home to watch it together as a family. It was awesome laying in bed doing some knitting and hearing the kids rolling with laughter at the scenes in the movie. Overall, it was one perfect day.

Today, the kids and I spent my lunch hour at the park playing with some friends. After work, Kamal took us all out to Chili's and we had such a great time. I took the toy bag in and what a lifesaver! They didn't get as restless as they usually do and they were STARVING so once the food came, that was it! We went to Wal-mart right after to do a little shopping and sure enough, the Mother's day flowers were half off! Kamal got me a dozen red roses and 3 peach roses that are so beautiful! When we got home, the kids wanted to model their Mother's day cards along with my flowers. I LOVE THEM ALL! THE FLOWERS! THE KIDS! THE HUSBAND!
