This afternoon, I made some fish sticks, celery and corn as a snack for the boys. After Danny comes home from school, he is usually a little hungry. We had a playdate scheduled at 4pm, so I wanted to make sure he wasn't starving before we left.
I have fun "dressing food up" and putting it in nice patterns and designs. The other day, Danny was helping me with apples that I had cut in slices and I noticed that he has gotten really good at doing the same thing. Maybe even better. Maybe he'll have his own restaurant one day. He loves to cook and is always asking me if he can make some macaroni and cheese.
We had a total blast at the playdate! It was called "Interesting Things at Zachary's House" and there were a total of 16 moms. Most of these moms have two or more kids so, it was a full house! The kids played on the playscape for a while until Melissa brought out a tray full of experiments. The kids loved this and inched as close as they could to see what was going on. For the finale, there were explosions and the kids just ate it up. First, there was a volcano that erupted lava and then there was the coke bottle that became a fountain when the candy Mentos was added. My kids immediately said, "Mom, can we do one at our house?" You know you're not a good mom until you've let the kids blow something up!
