First Day of School 2009

This was the boys' first day of school. Danny started Kindergarten and Austin started Pre-K. They had a great time getting ready for school. When we got there, it was super packed and that just heightened the boys' excitement.

We went in and took Austin to his room first. He met his teacher, Mrs. Watson, and he didn't seem at all afraid for me to leave him. I told him that he would be riding the bus and that I would see him in a few hours (three to be exact). He sat quietly at the table, which is a first, completing a puzzle. Danny and I hugged him and said goodbye. He waved goodbye and went back to his puzzle.

Then, it was off to Danny's room. He already had an idea where everything was after the open house so he went right to work. He put his nap towel and backpack into his locker and then went to sit at his desk. He was really excited to be there and the teacher had put a picture for each child to color. He went right to work. I gave him a kiss (on the cheek as he won't let me kiss him on the mouth anymore) and left him to start his day.

Austin came home at 10:45am and got off the bus. He was so happy that he gets to ride the bus and I was happy to see him get off. He looked so little coming off the bus and it reminded me that he is only four-years-old. He was so proud of himself and I was proud of him too, but so glad to have him home.
