Easter Sunday

This year I decided to participate in the Easter choir at our church. Since it would only be a week-long committment, I felt that I could handle it. I love to sing, so I asked Kamal if that would be alright and he said to go for it. We just had to work out some of the kinks as far as the rehearsals were concerned but otherwise, it would be fine.

The week was already busy, but throwing in 3 rehearsals and 3 performances made it extremely busy! We had rehearsals on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 7pm until about 9pm - and since Kamal isn't really good at the bedtime rituals yet, the kids were still up when I got home. Their bedtime is 8pm so we were already an hour behind on those two nights. Then, there was another rehearsal on Saturday at 4:30pm before our first Easter performance at 6:30pm. By the time we got to Sunday morning, I was exhausted.

On Sunday morning, I had to be to the church at 8am. We ran through the first numbers really quickly and then went down to the worship suite to eat. Everyone had brought something to eat for breakfast and there was so much good food! (The church had catered the day before as well). Then, we sang at the first service. As soon as we were done, I had to rush out to go pick up my family for church since we have only one car. As soon as I got home, I got the kids dressed, packed clothes for them for after church and then we rushed out to take a couple of pictures before we had to rush back to church, as I needed to get the kids to their classes, go with Kamal and Rajaa to see where we would be sitting and be back on stage by 10:40. One word to describe my Sunday morning: RUSHED.

But as soon as we were done singing for the second service, everything began to calm down and I really enjoyed the service. Afterward, we got the kids from their classes and went to Kamal's uncle's house to have Easter lunch with them. We visited for a while and watched a movie (Hero) and then went to our house to open Easter baskets (courtesy of my mom) and have an Easter egg hunt. The kids had such a blast hunting eggs because we had so many... again, courtesy of my mom.

It was a really enjoyable Easter and I am so priviledged to get to spend it with my family and glorifying God in three different worship services. It made Easter so special.
