Today was a firestation visit with our neighborhood playgroup. The kids were really excited about going so I told Danny this morning that if he got a green card at school, we would go to see the firefighters this afternoon. Sure enough, when I picked him up at school, he showed me his red, happy face stamp which tells me he got a green card and we were off to see the firefighters.
The tour of the new station was great and the kids were so excited by the time we got out to the firetrucks. As we were exiting the firestation to the garage where they have the trucks, Danny and Austin turned around and said "Thank you Mommy!" That comment right there made it all worthwhile, even BEFORE I got tons of pictures.
The kids got to climb onto a firetruck and talk to firefighters, look and play inside an ambulance with a real EMT to answer questions, watch how to put on fire fighting equipment and spray the water hose. The kids had so much fun and I had a little problem at the end trying to get them to leave but all in all, it was a great visit. Danny said on the way home that he hopes we can do it again soon.
There were too many pictures so I've included a slideshow of our day at the firestation. Enjoy!
