Yesterday, we took the kids to the Disney Store at the outlet mall. My friend Lisa had shown us the Buzz Lightyear beach towels she had gotten for her kids and my boys just had to have one. Before we left, I had to get a couple of pictures of the boys in the front yard, inevitably fighting over who gets to open the car.
Once we were there, Kamal and I picked out the beach towels but the boys had other things in mind. Austin picked out some Buzz Lightyear boxing gloves and Danny picked out a Cars race track. With a little coaxing, Austin put down the boxing gloves to look at a different toy and while he wasn't paying attention, I took them back and put them on the self. However, Danny couldn't be so easily fooled. He wouldn't put the race track down for anything, not even to look at another toy. He carried it around the store and we kept telling him that if he got it, it would be for his birthday and he couldn't open it until then. But he wouldn't part with it. So we ended up with two Buzz Lightyear beach towels, one Cars race track and Austin ended up getting a Buzz Lightyear skateboard toy where Buzz and Rex are holding on to each other on a skateboard. It is really cute and was only $5.50, where as Danny's cost $29.50. Oh well, as long as they're both happy, that's all that matters.
After we finished shopping, we went and picked up some pizza at Papa Johns. Then, on the way home, we ran by CVS, where the kids got Spongebob Crabby Patties and were very, very happy. When we got home, we ate our pizza and then the kids and I set up the Cars race track (Danny was smart. He knew we wouldn't make him wait a month to open the race track.). They had so much fun and afterwards, they watched The Santa Clause 3 again. It was a great day.
