Some More Flowers From My Guys

The other day as we were walking, Danny got me a whole bouquet of wildflowers and I just had to share. They were all the same shade of blue and purple and just looked so pretty. There was one bluebonnet and then I'm not quite sure what the rest were, but they were still gorgeous all together. Thanks Danny, you're such a sweetie!

The second bouquet was from Kamal. He picked the roses out of the backyard and put them in a vase for me. They were gorgeous too and smelled so good. Thanks honey!

Two Easter Egg Hunts

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Today was the Easter egg hunt for one of our playgroups and for our neighborhood. The first one was at 10:00am this morning and the other one was at 3:00pm this afternoon. They were so much fun and the boys had an absolute blast.

The Rockin Mommas had theirs at the home of the organizer and it was awesome to have such a great gathering of moms. The kids enjoyed playing and the moms enjoyed chatting. It was also a pot luck so everyone brought something and everything was delicious. Besides having a lot of good food there was Starbucks coffee as well. Thanks Ledda, Roberto, Nicholas and Alexander for hosting this wonderful event. We had a great time!

The neighborhood Easter egg hunt was a little better organized this year and the kids had a great time being around friends and getting to do so many different activities. There were refreshments, balloons, a raffle, two jump houses and a petting zoo. We could barely drag Austin away from the petting zoo in order to hunt Easter eggs. He LOVES animals! He couldn't get enough. After he hunted Easter eggs, we let him stay there for an hour afterward and he still threw a fit when we had to leave. I got tons of pictures as the kids just had so much fun.

Have you ever been inspired?

I'm in the middle of Stephanie Meyer's Twilight Series (just finished Eclipse, Book 3 of 4) and I am loving her writing style so much. At first, it was for the obvious reason of being a love story but I knew that it was more than that. I couldn't put my finger on it, really, not until book 3 did I figure it out. I like her writing style because it's CLEAN. There are hardly any cuss words in the book, apart from damn and hell used a couple of times, which aren't too bad, and the characters in the story are determined to stay virtuous. Also, her thoughts are so concise that you can follow every train of thought and picture everything so clearly. I absolutely love that! It's always an adventure reading her books.

This got me thinking the other day about how much I used to enjoy writing stories and how much I would like to try to do it again. As if I don't already have enough on my plate! Her writing style is exactly the way I would love to write my own stories. My only hang up is a self conscious one in that I don't want to appear stupid to anyone who reads my book. It is apparent that her book took time, research, planning, character development and overall, tying the ends together in a neat little bow, which I believe she has done beautifully. But it has inspired me a great deal to know that it can be done. Telling a great story doesn't always have to involve cuss words. :-)

Family Fun

We went to the park last Sunday with Kamal's Uncle Nagib, Aunt Margo and Cousin Rajaa. The kids had so much fun getting to show Tata Margo the new playscape and we had a wonderful time getting to walk by the creek. Danny even picked me some wildflowers. I thought they were so beautiful, I had to take a picture of them right then and there.

I Was Arrested Today!

Can you believe it? What a moron am I? I mean, seriously, how stupid can one person be?

So here's the story. I was driving down the freeway about 8:30 this evening and I see the cops lights flashing behind me. I know I'm not exceeding the speed limit and it suddenly concerns me. I'm trying to find a place to stop and since I am alone, I decide to keep on going to the next exit to find a public parking spot. I put on my hazard lights so that the cop will know my intentions. When I exit the freeway and finally find a place to stop, the cop is steaming mad and yelling at me over his speaker to pull over. I thought, "Oh no, I'm in serious trouble" and totally start freaking out. Another police car pulls up at this point and the officer is waiting in the car. When the first officer gets to my window, he has his gun drawn, points it at me and tells me to exit the vehicle with my hands up. I am shaking so bad at this point and I do what he says. He handcuffs me and says he's taking me in for evading police. I'm panicking at this point because I wasn't really evading him and I start yelling, "I wasn't evading you! I wasn't evading you!" but he keeps on being really nasty to me.

They take me in and all I can think of is all the cop movies I've seen. I was scared to death! They took me to this interrogation room and three interrogators were asking me why I didn't pull off the road immediately and do you know what I said? APRIL FOOLS!!!!

I hope I got at least one person out there! If not, I guess, better luck next year! :-)
